I can’t recall ever being as bored as these characters were. If I wasn’t outside playing baseball or something with the neighborhood kids, I was indoors playing with my Legos or other toys.

I grew up on a farm. There was always work to be done…especially during the summer. I actually looked forward to school starting in the fall.

When my sister, Sendi, or I even thought “bored” my mother had a list of jobs to do around the house to keep us “entertained,” so we did our best to stay outside and not be near the “list”!

The “I’m bored” comment always received the same answer, “Find something to do or I’ll find something for you to do.”
